Avalanche Montana Campground

Avalanche Campground in located in one of the most sereen Montana locations one could ever imagine, just west of the Continental Divide.

The campground opens June 18 and closes September 7. There are a total of 87 sites;
50 sites can handle RVs with lengths up to 26 feet. Potable water is accessible in the campground, and restroom facilities are equipped with flush toilets and sinks with running water.

There is no disposal station at Avalanche Campground.

The campground is situated within old growth cedar and hemlock trees, with two day hikes that originate from the campground, making this a popular campground for hikers and bird watchers.

Trail of the Cedars, and Avalanche Lake are two of the most popular hikes in the park. Opening earlier and staying open longer in the fall, making these trails a hikers wonderland thoughout the year.

Be sure to check out many of the evening programs with a ranger at the Avalanche Amphitheater, just a short stroll from the campground.

Sites are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please limit your stay to 7 days.

Groceries and restaurants are approximately 6 miles south at Lake McDonald Lodge.
